Predictive Maintenance by Transformer Monitoring
A. Eberle Africa's Trafostick™ range provides continuous online monitoring of both power transformers (PTs) and distribution transformers (DTs). By measuring breakdown voltage (BDV) online, up to two dissolved gases, and other critical performance parameters in real time, TrafoStick™ provides valuable insights into transformer health. It also estimates the remaining service life of transformer insulation, enabling proactive maintenance, improving reliability, and reducing the risk of unexpected failures.
The TrafoStick™ TS G5 combines continuous breakdown voltage (BDV) monitoring with dissolved gas analysis by measuring Hydrogen (H₂) and Carbon Monoxide (CO), alongside water content and oil temperature. This advanced sensor provides early warning of insulation deterioration and developing transformer faults, helping maximise asset life and reduce unplanned outages.
